Los Vallejos | Home Finds Spring Edition

I love redecorating. I do it probably more than I should! I just love the feeling of satisfaction you get from seeing it all come together, piece by piece.

I have a lot of love for each of the stores and sites I pulled from for this post.

Los Vallejos | Home Finds Spring Edition

1. My beloved Urban Outfitters. Your one stop shop for almost everything you need. These woven banners are too cool. I have a vintage woven banner from my grandma and I am sure she would get along very well with these beauties. (The banners…and my grandma!)

2. Target did not disappoint this season. There is a lot of white and woven going on there. This bench would be perfect at your desk or nested under your side table to use at a footrest when you’re lounging. Don’t you love it?

3. If you’re brave enough to make the trek to Ikea, then this lamp should be on your list. It’s difficult to see in my photo, but it has copper detailing on the top and bottom, with exposed wire covers in a dark grey. Even better? It’s name is actually pronounceable! It’s called the “Ranarap.”

4. We love a good cactus. But we really love a good cactus in a sweet skull planter. Etsy, get down with your bad self!

5. Another Etsy treasure is this raw, hammered copper business card holder. Think about how amazing your business cards would look in your home office?

The thing I love most about these items is their versatility and ability to transcend the seasons. Add pops of color with fresh flowers and you’re ready to go for spring and summer!

CV + CV // It’s alright

Hey you,

Life is hard.

It kicks you in the tail and expects you to get back up – knowing full well it will just kick you again.

But that’s the beauty of it, don’t you think?

Each day is a new chance to get back up.

Regardless of what happened yesterday or the day before that or even the day before that.

Because today is a new day.

Breathe in the new life in the morning air and exhale with relief because you can start over.

Breathe it in

Love,

Wife C

CV + CV :: Five Guys Burgers and Fries // Las Colinas, TX

According to the Burger Doctor, the hamburger did indeed come from Hamburg, Germany. It was first given its name for the hamburg steak typically used between the bread. Then, the lazy Americans shortened it to –burger and added cheese. Typical.

We like a good burger but we LOVE a good cheeseburger. There are just so many choices! High-end to Big-Mac… Let’s be serious here, there’s In-n-Out, Jake’s, Fudrucker’s, Smash Burger aaaand

Then, there is Five Guys Burgers and Fries.

Claudio has been workin’ hard and pumpin’ iron during the week so he can have a couple of cheat days on the weekends. He’s been eating protein, raw vegetables and a lot of smoothies. So needless to say, a burger is the ideal meal to break your healthy edge.

What’s the hype about 5 Guys”, you may ask. Let me tell you, there is something special about this red and white tiled establishment. Burgers cooked to order with the classic toppings…fresh jalapenos, pickled jalapenos, just plain pickles, raw onions, grilled onions, grilled mushrooms, relish, green peppers, hot sauce, ketchup, mustard and the list goes on! There are 2 different sizes of burger, the “Little Cheeseburger” which is 1 patty and just the regular “Cheeseburger” which is 2 patties. Personally, I stick to the Little Cheeseburger with pickles and barbecue sauce. But Claudio goes all out.

How can you have a hamburger without the French fries? Well, the answer is, you can’t. Five Guys orders different potatoes from various potato farms and makes them fresh. You can order them original or Cajun, we like to take a ride on the flavor train ever once in a while so we get the Cajun fries. They’re served in a cup, but don’t worry, you won’t run out.

If you ask me, what makes Five Guys so great is the simplicity. They do have other things on the menu like hot dogs and grilled cheese – which are both equally as delicious – but they all fall under the same umbrella of American Cuisine. So come hungry and dig in, you won’t be disappointed.

PS

Claudio recently found the bottled Whataburger Spicy Ketchup in stores. Before we left for Five Guys, he asked me to bring my “big purse”, which I thought was odd but not surprising. As we’re walking out the door he slides the bottle in my purse so he could use it with the fries. True love.
