Hello Spring

Los Vallejos :: Spring is Here

Happy Spring!

Here in Texas it doesn’t last long, but it sure is glorious.

Yesterday was a big day.

I brought tickets to see my favorite band of all time. I thought it was only appropriate to use their lyrics in today’s image.

“She is a flower and I am a flower and we are alone”

Adam Duritz is my one and only.

Countdown to Counting Crows is t-minus 132 days.

When I was little, my dad would let me stay up late and we would listen to August and Everything After over and over (while snacking on bbq chips and dr. pepper…only the best midnight snack.)

Adam Duritz is like the cool uncle I never had. Counting Crows started in 1990…the year I was born. Which means they have been around my ENTIRE life.

Seeing these guys is going to be so surreal.

Not familiar with their music? Here’s a playlist of my top favorites.

CV + CV // Winter Remedy

It doesn’t get too cold here in the south, but for those of us who associate with amphibians it’s plenty cold.

There will always be hot chocolate and electric blankets to keep us warm but I want to talk about a different kind of remedy.

Victor Hugo was, and is to this day an amazing human being. Hugo bestowed upon us the beauty that is Les Misérables and the touching story of Notre-Dame de Paris (or as we know it here: The Hunchback of Notre Dame).

He has touched many people over the past century through his stories, but what I took from him was this quote.Laughter isLet love and laughter keep you warm this winter.

CV + CV // Winning

I like to think I am an optimist. Someone that sees the world half happy instead of half sad and sees the good in people before the bad.

I am also goal oriented. Now, whether or not my goal stays the same from start to finish is a different story.

Each morning I set 3 optimistic goals that I work towards during the day. Sometimes they change mid-day depending on how my day is going but I am always work towards something.

There are 3 easy steps to creating 3 efficient goals. Setting Goals

1. Keep it positive – Don’t let your goals stress you out. They are meant to give your day meaning and fulfillment. Not add to the craziness! Try give a coworker a compliment today

2. Keep it simple – The more complex the harder it will be to achieve each part. A simple goal could be as easy as only have one cup of coffee today.

3. Keep it real – Make sure your goals are obtainable. Even if the big picture is a larger goal, make your daily goals small and realistic. Just be still and breathe for 5 minutes today.

It is amazing what a little thing like this will do to your mojo.

CV + CV // It’s alright

Hey you,

Life is hard.

It kicks you in the tail and expects you to get back up – knowing full well it will just kick you again.

But that’s the beauty of it, don’t you think?

Each day is a new chance to get back up.

Regardless of what happened yesterday or the day before that or even the day before that.

Because today is a new day.

Breathe in the new life in the morning air and exhale with relief because you can start over.

Breathe it in
