CV + CV :: Turn Table // REdecorate

One of my passions is redecorating.

I love decorating, too. But redecorating is my favorite. I enjoy taking things that I already own and putting them together in new ways. Moving trinkets from one room to the next and giving them new life! It’s like going shopping…but it’s free.

We picked out our harvest table at a thrift store and it’s the best find in the world. It has these two amazing chairs and a fabulous bench. YES, I said bench. I could just stare at it all day. Not to mention, CV1 and I carried it up to our third floor apartment all by ourselves.

When you walk in the door to our happy little place, you are greeted by our dining room. Complete with record player and mini bar set up.

Our table was first decorated with some dishes we received from the wedding and a recurring fresh flower bouquet. Which, was beautiful. But I am a fan of change and there comes a time when I am just dying for a new look.

Inspired by a photo from A Beautiful Mess blog, I used some of our engagement pictures (via Taylor Lord) and put them in jars-for-frames.

We usually eat in the living room…so the table gets to be a work of art. Obsessed.

I encourage you to to walk around your home and find things that speak to you. Help give your once loved treasures new life.

There’s always more to come

CV + CV :: Cultured // Sunday Outing

Being married to a man of another culture is inspiring. Sometimes, it’s like being exposed to this whole other world that you never knew existed. There are so many things I had never heard of or tried but now I can’t live without some of them! (I really do think I would die without horchata)

On Sunday we went to a Mexican market. It’s not too different from a regular super market, but there are a couple of things that really stand out. The produce is always amazing and they’re always making something delicious so the whole place makes your mouth water.

Oh, they also have piñatas and these cute little Mexican men!!

Our intention was to pick up some carne asada, but we ended up perusing the store. Which, I don’t think either of us minded at all! We picked up some cactus fruit (las tunas), beans and corn tortillas to go with dinner. Going up and down the aisles you see so many bright colors! My favorite was this hot pink cake!

How fun is that?? We were good and we did not indulge on this trip…but better believe we will be back to satisfy our sweet tooth!

I am all about finding “treasures” on our outings. Just little trinkets that will remind me of the sweet moments we have as we go through life. This time, I picked up this little lady. Her name is Lucy.

I live for days like these. Enjoying the things that shaped us into the people we are today, together. It fills my heart.

There is always more to come.

CV + CV :: Claudio // Husband C

Me? I’m the other half of CVsquared.

Born and raised in the Sunshine state and currently reside in The Lone Star State with my “one and only”. I moved out here in 2007 and married my southern belle earlier this year. We share many things, except of course, she says, “y’all” and I say, “you guys”. It’s a cultural difference that I’m not sure I’ll ever get used to, but I accept her for who she is.

I have a degree in Advertising and will probably never use it. I’m always trying to learn a new hobby to put on the list of “Hobbies I don’t have time for.” I impulsively collect things and am on the hunt for that “Million Dollar Idea”, of which I’ve had a couple… but no million dollars to show for it. One day…

I’m Mexican and very Americanized. Most people think I’m European, however, so I’ll take that too. I’m fashionable (the guy version of that word) and yet, as nerdy as they come. I’ll talk to you about anything from politics to technology and music to Star Wars. I guess you can call me “well-rounded.”

I have a very passive personality and usually get along with most people I meet. I tend to try and please everyone and oftentimes wear myself too thin because of it. I guess you can say it’s one of my flaws.

My wife and I enjoy traveling and staying up late watching shows on Netflix. We can’t wait to start a family and can’t wait to see where this adventure of a life will take us.

Our blog is about our everyday life, and we hope you can be a part of it too. Follow us on our adventure.

I hope we’re as interesting as we look.

CV + CV :: Joe T Garcia’s // Fort Worth, Texas

We love food.

Seriously, we love food.

One of our favorite spots is a happy little joint out in Fort Worth called Joe T Garcia’s. They only have 3 things on the menu…

Enchiladas

Fajitas

&

Margaritas

If you’re reading this and you’ve been there, then you know why an establishment that only has 3 items is so popular. Some will say they go for the atmosphere and don’t get me wrong the atmosphere definitely is festive! Strung lights, a beautiful water feature and one very talented mariachi. What’s not to love?

Others will say they go for the food. Enchiladas filled with stringy, cheesy goodness, rice and beans straight from your abuelas kitchen and fajita meat that mixes perfectly with sweet peppers and fresh guacamole. Mouth watering, indeed! But let’s be honest. Most of us go for those over the top margaritas.

When you arrive at Joe T’s, you are greeted by an intimidating drive around the parking lot. It is rare that there are any vacant spaces even remotely close to the front. But it’s okay, it adds to the suspense of the evening! After you put ‘er in park, my advice is to go ahead and check your heels at the door. However, if your outfit just can’t live without them, no worries, you probably won’t be able to feel your feet soon enough.  As you round the corner to the main entrance you will stumble upon a line that rivals one you may see at a very popular amusement park ride. Do not fret, my friends! Libations are en route. It is best to travel in pairs to this Tex Mex delight because as one of you saves the spot in line, the other goes to fetch a pitcher of this infamous adult beverage. Cups are stacked high with salt and lime and you should always designate a “pour-er”, this person would have even a silver of background in the food service industry so as to not waste a drop of this nectar of los dioses. By the time you are seated, the pitcher is gone and you are faced with the choice of what to eat for dinner. (This is why there are only 2 items, otherwise there would be chaos)

//

The atmosphere comes alive and you enjoy an evening with friends and loved ones.

We can speculate there is everclear and gallons of tequila swirling around with the limejuice and salt, but who really knows. I’d rather leave the details out and count this place as one of our favorites for life.

There is always more to come.

Wife C
