Styled : Bill and Kathy

I had the pleasure of styling a dear family friend’s intimate wedding reception. Bill has been my dad’s closest friend and confidant for many years. His sweet and absolutely radiant wife, Kathy, is just so wonderful.

They had a small ceremony in Paris, TX earlier in the week and my parents hosted their reception in the backyard. It couldn’t have been a sweeter event.

I grew up with an innate eye for position and detail. Bill and Kathy | Los VallejosSince this was a simple and low-key gathering, it was decided that cupcakes would be perfect. But to keep the wedding theme, we had to have a small cake-topper. Literally, it was a cake that was a topper. Want List – 001

Los Vallejos | Spring Wantlist

Like I said last week, Spring doesn’t last very long in Texas. But while it is here, us natives realllllly enjoy it! We also enjoy a partaking in a little spring cleaning and making room for new items. I was so pleased while doing this project to find that there are some really good deals out there this year! Being on a budget can be difficult, but none of these pieces will elicit buyers remorse…guaranteed!

1. These flouncy tops from H&M are so fab. H&M always has great basics. These are so inexpensive…I want them both!

2. This denim Jacket from J.Crew is just heaven. However, it’s a splurge if you’re on a budget. So this denim jacket from J.Crew Factory is less than half the price with all the quality. Blamo!

3. These black skinnies are THE item to have. In fact, I wish I could pass a law to say that every woman should own a pair. I can wish can’t I?

4. This Essie Color is called Borrowed and Blue. It looks light, but it goes on the prettiest shade of blue you’ve ever seen. I’m currently wearing it…check out my Instagram later, I’ll post a picture!

5. Okay. these sunnies are so amazing. AND they come in THREE colors! Get out. Can you see yourself wearing these at your next music festival? Because I can, and you look perfect.

6. This cuff. You. Me. Right now. Let’s go. If you live in Dallas and you haven’t been to Milk and Honey then you’re not doing it right. This boutique gives me reason to live.

7. I dream about these studs. Like, I’m not kidding. I had a dream I went to a Kendra Scott store and bought these earrings. It doesn’t help that I am completely obsessed with everything in the Atlantic Collection. I honestly look at it multiple times a day to make sure it’s still there. I have a problem…a very beautiful problem.

//

I hope this list encourages you to do a little spring cleaning. Out with the old and in with the new, I say! Even try taking your old clothes to a Buffalo Exchange or Plato’s Closet to get some cash to spend on new beauties! These pieces will update your wardrobe in a snap and can be worn with just about anything.

CV + CV :: Time Travel

Spring is time for travel, music and loving.

Last spring we were preparing to tie the knot and getting excited about Austin City Limits. (Check out that post here)

When Claudio & I first started dating we, like a lot of couples, made mixtapes. So 2000.

But music has been a big part of our relationship from the get-go. We used to try to find artists that one of us loved and we were certain the other wouldn’t have heard of them…but there weren’t very many of those. Try as we might, we couldn’t stump the other.

Concerts and festivals are our ultimate bonding experiences. We absolutely love it.

Here is our top list for up-coming shows:

CV + CV :: Go To // Favorite DIY Spots

Happy Wednesday!

Growing up, my mom would walk around department stores, or home furnishing stores saying, “I could make that”.

Ask anyone that has ever gone shopping with me…I do it, too.

There is just something so satisfying about “doing it yourself”.

I have a few favorite places I go for ideas and inspiration for DIY projects. Just click on the logos to be inspired!

I’ve talked about Elsie and Emma before, they’re just so much fun! All the bright colors and fun textures.

Sara and Rocky Garza are a Dallas-based photographer couple that started a blog for their 1926 Tudor home renovation. I love anything to do with renovations, so I am all over their savvy style.

Molly is a punchy LA lady with tons of awesome DIY ideas and some killer recipes.

I started following Free People on my Pinterest and discovered that they have the best blog! It covers everything from food, to fashion to DIY. I’m just obsessed with it. Do your self (and your Christmas present receivers) a favor and check it out.

CV + CV :: HAIM // Artist Spectrum

We are so ridiculously excited to make our way down to Austin this weekend!

ACL Here we come!

But first…

A lot of artists that play ACL end up doing shows during the week in surrounding cities like Dallas, Houston and San Antonio.

Earlier this week we had the pleasure of being graced with HAIM’s presence here in the Big D. Oh my goodness.

What

A

Show

Seriously, I haven’t seen this much family talent since the Hanson Brothers. (90s kid shout out)

They were amazing. And funny. Let it be heard here and now…”Make out, make out, I just wanna make out, wanna get some take out?”…”Its going straight to the top” said youngest sister, Alana, about their tour bus song.

These LA based sisters totally rocked the show. It was a blast to watch them on stage together. These girls have such a great on stage chemistry. We laughed and danced all night long!

I love this video for their single “The Wire”. It shows off their funny side.

Their debut album, Days are Gone, is so good. My personal favorite is a track called Honey and I. If you haven’t listened to this album…it’s a serious must.

Opening for HAIM was IO Echo, also an LA based band, that was right on the money. Can I please get her kimono?

Los Vallejos Blog // IO Echo

I can’t even stand it I’m so excited to get to Weirdville. I’m ready to do some band lovin’ and consume some sweet, sweet Baby A’s. What chu know about them purple drinks?

Are you going to ACL? Have you listened to HAIM yet?

There is always more to come.

CV + CV :: Turn Table // REdecorate

One of my passions is redecorating.

I love decorating, too. But redecorating is my favorite. I enjoy taking things that I already own and putting them together in new ways. Moving trinkets from one room to the next and giving them new life! It’s like going shopping…but it’s free.

We picked out our harvest table at a thrift store and it’s the best find in the world. It has these two amazing chairs and a fabulous bench. YES, I said bench. I could just stare at it all day. Not to mention, CV1 and I carried it up to our third floor apartment all by ourselves.

When you walk in the door to our happy little place, you are greeted by our dining room. Complete with record player and mini bar set up.

Our table was first decorated with some dishes we received from the wedding and a recurring fresh flower bouquet. Which, was beautiful. But I am a fan of change and there comes a time when I am just dying for a new look.

Inspired by a photo from A Beautiful Mess blog, I used some of our engagement pictures (via Taylor Lord) and put them in jars-for-frames.

We usually eat in the living room…so the table gets to be a work of art. Obsessed.

I encourage you to to walk around your home and find things that speak to you. Help give your once loved treasures new life.

There’s always more to come
